Principles of the living archive
A thought sets
the direction.
Six principles and six paths through the archive. Begin with the question that matters most to you.
What this project is
How we see it
Understand the
history. Then
decide.
An independent bilingual living archive of Bitcoin—from an idea and its first lines of code to the decisions, mistakes and experiences of real people.
We collect primary sources, explain difficult ideas plainly and preserve stories without price predictions, noise or promises of easy money. Our purpose is not to persuade you to buy. It is to provide enough context for your own responsible decision.

What Bitcoin is—and how to approach it
Understand.
Secure.
Don't rush.
Bitcoin is an open network for transferring value without a central operator. BTC is its unit of account; the blockchain is its independently verified transaction history.
Learn custody and risk before making any financial decision. Bitcoin's price is volatile and storage mistakes can be irreversible.
How people obtain bitcoin
“Earning” does not mean guaranteed profit. Never risk money you cannot afford to lose.
Earn it through work
Accept bitcoin for useful work, products or services. You create value and receive sats in return.
No price bet requiredBuy and hold
Buy modest amounts without leverage or debt. The market can rise sharply—and remain down for years.
Market riskBuild a mining business
Mining requires hardware, power, cooling and operations. Economics can be negative without careful calculation.
High barrierA wallet holds keys—not coins.
Whoever controls the recovery phrase controls the funds. Never send it to anyone or keep it as a cloud screenshot.
Reader stories
Experience matters more than a perfect outcome
Your story is also
part of history.
A first purchase, a missed opportunity, a custody mistake, work paid in BTC or a decision that proved wise. Honest detail and the lesson matter more than the amount.
